KL MARATHON
Signed up for the KL Marathon (5 Mar 2006). This will be my first race of the year and my first ever overseas marathon. Decided to go for this cos no exciting race in Singapore in the first half of the year, and KL is good cos relatively cheap and only need to take one or two days of leave. Plus quite a few sgrunners going so should be fun - kops is even doing the registration for us!
WS is doing the full too while Run3 has decided to go for the half. I said she will definitely achieve a sub-2hr timing this time round and Taz has to up me by saying sub 1:50. Well, I certainly do not doubt her ability to achieve this. Taz is not going this time round so both Run3 and me have worked out our individual training programmes for his "vetting". He offered to train with us also. Only 8 weeks to go so my plan is very basic - just increase mileage up to the run, tapering 2 weeks before. Will attempt at least one 30km and one 35km run this time round, so I won't lose my rhythem at the 35km mark (as in SCM2005). Run3 is including tempo/interval runs in her schedule to increase speed - I will join her when I can. Am aiming for a sub-5hr timing this time.
Dream It. Plan It. Do It.
